Tradition is an unhappy word – a collection of stale thoughts and expectations, the slow disintegration of originality. It offers dull lessons and gives no relief. Those who rely on tradition devote themselves to preserving the past (and forgetting the future).

This has bred an entire generation of weak students and their weaker pursuits. Too often, students choose safe courses and degrees. Their only goals are of careers and steady income. All passion is erased.

This is a mistake.

Conventional lessons streamline the education process – numbing it to precision but not excitement. Choosing to seek extreme knowledge (unique courses, unexpected assignments, impractical ideas) ensures variety, and this is valuable for all people.

Experience defines capabilities. Students who offer themselves more than traditional curriculums will expand their potential – becoming aware of what’s beyond degrees and increasing their skills. And, since this information can be found on venues like elearners, there is no excuse left to refuse it.

Universities were founded with the intention to inspire. They have been transformed, however, into bland buildings that many students can’t wait to escape once they have earned their majors. An education is viewed as obligatory and nothing more. This is bordering on the tragic. Extreme knowledge must be sought to redefine college and prove its worth. Individuals must feed their minds with new ideas and possibilities.

This is the only way to gain a future worth having – one of varied experiences and interesting facts. Tradition must be replaced with intrigue.
